Darkstalkers
The Darkstalkers series began in 1994 when Vampire: The Night Warriors was released in Japan. Other regions would sport the same game, only with some sound effects and voices removed and a slight name change from Vampire to Darkstalkers. Darkstalkers was the first of Capcom's fighting games to incorporate Air Blocking, Dashing, Throw Escapes, Throw Misses.

However, the two most notable advents were those of Chain Style Combos, accomplished with mere button taps, a style that would later be used in Capcom's popular Marvel line of games, and the then revolutionary Anime Style that would influence later games, like Street Fighter Alpha/Zero.
